My relationship with Aprilhelen began when I attended her yoga classes at the Art of Yoga in Oklahoma City, OK around the year of 2004.
I have long said Aprilhelen is a dynamite yoga teacher…among the best; if not the best I have worked with.
I have also attended one of Aprilhelen’s retreats in Arkansas in the past! She was also the minister of our wedding when marrying my current husband.
In the year of 2016 Aprilhelen stayed in my home for 21 days to do her transformation program “Art of Living.” The program afforded me to do as much as my time allowed, in other words I could pick what I wanted to do with my day and night time activities.
My program began the day at 6 a.m. with tea and conversation usually from a topic Aprilhelen had for me to reflect upon prior, then meditation, then yoga, then homemade juicing.
That was how we began our day, and then we both went on our merry way. We then met up at dinner time, and Aprilhelen would make the most beautiful, healthy, tasteful meals and have conversation at the dinner table. One of the best things to come out of the 21 days was a renewed sense of gratitude with my husband, especially the aspect of prayer before the shared meal.
We would then do our own things for the night until we met again in the morning.
This program was a great reset both physically and mentally. Meditation has been a little tricky for me; but we began with 3-5 minutes and by the 21 days I was up to 18 minutes and could certainly feel the benefits from elongating my time.
Having a “coach” with you while you are incorporating new habits and the accountability I believe is a great way to begin.
Aprilhelen not only has the credentials to teach she also has the innate gift that incorporates all her modalities that I believe is essential to true efficacy.
I felt accomplished, I looked better and I felt better, and I would do it again.

I had the pleasure of being held by Aprilhelen in the Art of Living Reprogramming during a huge shift in my life, around 2014.
During that time, I was curious about deepening my relationship to daily rituals and routines that nurtured by spiritual growth. My intention was to get into more alignment both physically and energetically. My goal was simply to try something new for at least 28 days and see how it shifted my habits/patterns.
I remember being served hot tea before morning yoga practice and feeling so supported. I will never forget how I was pushing myself to practice during my moon cycle and Aprilhelen taught me that what I really needed was rest and/or more restorative yoga. This opened me up to a whole new world of honoring my feminine cycles, instead of making myself show up consistently when my body had different needs.
Resting while digesting was another valuable tool that I learned during our time together. I had never stopped to pause and think/feel into what my body was actually going through during different parts of the day.
Aprilhelen reminded me that my body is not a machine and I have since cultivated such a deep relationship to my body as a vessel/temple.
I would absolutely love to treat myself to this experience again and swim in the wisdom and love that Aprilhelen has to share. Being in her care helped me to see how important daily ritual and self care are.
What I learned and experienced in the reprogramming has stayed with me, even 10 years later.
What a gift.
The gift of transformation through deep awareness.
